Textron 401(k) Plan

The Textron Savings Plan is a large 401(k) and profit-sharing plan with an employee stock ownership (ESOP) component, sponsored by Textron Inc. of Providence, Rhode Island. Fidelity Management Trust Company serves as both trustee and recordkeeper, and the plan offers an investment lineup that includes the Textron Stock Fund, Vanguard target-date trusts, index and actively managed collective trusts, a stable value Managed Income Fund, and a Fidelity BrokerageLink self-directed window. Company matching contributions are made in Textron stock, which participants may immediately reallocate among other plan options.

The actively managed funds in this plan cost more per year than the plan's index funds, which run roughly 0.02% to 0.06%. Decades of research on long-term active fund performance do not support reliable outperformance net of fees, which is why the allocation ideas below may consider using only the low-cost index options.
