NRG Energy 401(k) Plan

The NRG Affiliates Employee Savings Plan is a large defined contribution 401(k) plan sponsored by NRG Affiliate Services, Inc., covering 17,981 total participants as of the end of the 2024 plan year, with 14,204 participants holding account balances. Total plan assets reached approximately $2.33 billion at year-end 2024, up from $2.05 billion at the start of the year. Fidelity Investments Institutional serves as the recordkeeper, with Fidelity Management Trust Company as trustee and Strategic Advisors, Inc. as the plan's investment advisor. The plan absorbed the Vivint 401(k) Plan (approximately $165 million in assets) on December 31, 2024, and saw approximately $74 million transfer out following the sale of the Airtron HVAC division.
